Providence Health & Services Respiratory Therapist in Walla Walla, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Respiratory Therapist (Respiratory Therapy, Night Shift, 0.9 FTE) to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington. In this po sition you will:

  • Consistently demonstrates adherence to Medicare and Medicaid regulations which directly or indirectly relate to the performance and job expectations.

  • Employee demonstrates knowledge of PSMMC’s policy on Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities and respects these rights and responsibilities in carrying-out daily activities.

  • Actively participates in departmental and organization performance improvement activities in accordance with hospital and joint commission standards. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.

  • Demonstrates leadership by performing his/her work in a manner that meets or exceeds the level of care and service that PSMMC promotes to the communities we serve. RCP is able to work independently and exhibits productive time management skills.

  • Participates in hospital and department specific practices to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.

  • Maintains the security and confidentiality of data and information used in performance of his/her daily duties conforming to hospital policy, laws and regulations as appropriate.

  • Follows established Infection Control policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection.

  • Provides clear, concise, pertinent reports/information.

  • Contributes to the assessment of the patient for appropriate care and therapeutic modalities.

  • Performs cardiopulmonary assessment at least once per shift with therapy.

  • Recognizes and reports signs/symptoms of abuse and neglect for all ages of patients served.

  • Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic testing accurately (ABG’s, oximetry, weaning parameters, etc.).

  • Ability to perform ECG & follow through with documentation and electronic ECG transfer to physicians for interpretation.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduated from accredited Respiratory program

  • State of Washington license in Respiratory Therapy

  • Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care as CRT

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (Must be AHA accredited)

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification (Must be through AAP and you must maintain your certification)

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Previous experience preferred

  • Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care as RRT

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
