Providence Health & Services Respiratory Therapist in Walla Walla, Washington
Providence is calling a Respiratory Therapist (Respiratory Therapy, Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Washington. As the Respiratory Care Practitioner you will be responsible for the management of pulmonary system through the administration of medication, ventilator management and pulmonary hygiene during stable and critical situations. Other job duties include performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostics, daily maintenance and QC of ABG machines and competency testing. RCP's will perform clinical duties and operate equipment according to department policy, with an appropriate physician's order and according to manufacturer guidelines. The RCP will work with humans of all age groups and knowledgeably administer Respiratory Therapeutic measures as recognized by Evidence Based criteria.
In this position you will:
Demonstrate adherence to Medicare and Medicaid regulations which directly or indirectly relate to the performance and job expectations.
Demonstrate knowledge of PSMMC’s policy on Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities and respects these rights and responsibilities in carrying-out daily activities.
Actively participate in departmental and organization performance improvement activities in accordance with hospital and joint commission standards. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
Demonstrate leadership by performing his/her work in a manner that meets or exceeds the level of care and service that PSMMC promotes to the communities we serve. RCP is able to work independently and exhibits productive time management skills.
Participate in hospital and department specific practices to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff.
Maintain the security and confidentiality of data and information used in performance of his/her daily duties conforming to hospital policy, laws and regulations as appropriate.
Follow established Infection Control policies and procedures to identify and reduce the risks of acquiring or transmitting infection.
Provide clear, concise, pertinent reports/information.
Contribute to the assessment of the patient for appropriate care and therapeutic modalities.
Perform cardiopulmonary assessment at least once per shift with therapy.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Associate's Degree from an accredited Respiratory program.
State of Washington license in Respiratory Therapy.
Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care (CRT or RRT preferred).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (must be AHA accredited).
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Previous experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care as RRT.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
NRP (through AAP) and maintaining certification.
