Providence Health & Services Emergency Department Technician in Walla Walla, Washington
Providence is calling an Emergency Department Technician (Emergency Services, Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA. In this position you will:
Support the clinical team by performing assigned tasks and activities which may include direct patient care.
Perform data entry and order entry for Emergency Department patients with a high level of accuracy.
Assist with Hospital Emergency and Administrative Radio (HEAR) communication with the emergency medical system (EMS) system as needed, relaying all information to the nursing and physician staff without delay.
Maintain the medical records according to institutional guidelines, ensuring that all required documents and results are properly filed in the patient’s record.
Perform effectively in emergency patient situations by prioritizing workload to meet the most urgent patient needs as delegated by clinical staff.
Report results of lab work to clinical staff in a timely manner.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Clerical or other clinical experience in a health care setting.
Current Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) AND ability to obtain Washington State Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist (MA-P) within 60 days of hire OR Current Washington State Medical Assistant Certification (MA-C) - MA-C in lieu of CNA and MA-P is sufficient
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
Minimum one (1) year as certified nursing assistant in acute care
