Manager Long Term Care (LTC) Nursing and Quality Services - LTC Administration at Providence Valdez Medical Center

Under general supervision works in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and other members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver elder centered care in a compassionate and ethical manner according to standards of practice, incorporating Eden Philosophy as part of our core values and practices. This position ensures smooth operational management and ensures a comprehensive approach to quality improvement and infection control at Providence Valdez Medical Center Long Term Care. Serves on the hospital executive team and plays an integral role in regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.

  • Current licensure with the State of Alaska, as a Registered Nurse.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire.

  • Current licensure with the State of Alaska, as a Registered Nurse.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related to health sciences field.

  • Current licensure with the State of Alaska, as a Registered Nurse.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire.

About the Providence Valdez Medical Center

Providence Valdez Medical Center is a 21 bed Critical Access Hospital and we employ about 100 people (87 FTE’s). Of those 21 beds, 10 are licensed Long Term Care beds and 11 are Acute/Swing Beds. We have four physicians on our active medical staff who practice out of the Valdez Medical Clinic. Our average daily census is three-four inpatients and 20-30 outpatients. Our facility contains an emergency room, labor room, post-partum, nursery, cardiac room, orthopedic, and med/surg rooms. We also have an operating room for emergency surgeries and elective procedures, C-sections, hernias and appendectomies. All our beds are licensed for “swing bed” status of which 1-3 are usually occupied.
