Providence Health & Services Pharmacy Technician in Tukwila, Washington
Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician (Pharmacy Department, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Infusion and Pharmacy Services in Tukwila, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
Position Details: This is a full-time position with benefits (40 hours/week, 1.0FTE). 10:30am to 7pm Friday-Tuesday shift. This position is not in a hospital setting.
In this position you will:
Accurately enter new prescriptions into the computer system for patients serviced by the Oral Dose Pharmacy
Prioritize order processing based on courier driver pickup-time and “stat” order requests
Evaluate third party reimbursement at the time orders are processed. Addresses rejection notifications by either obtaining authorization for the product or billing the item to a secondary insurance or facility account if authorized to do so by the facility
Accurately bill and process E-kit and house supply replacement items which were distributed to patient(s) at the facility(ies).
Accurate enter new drugs into the computer system when a new drug is stocked utilizing wholesaler data for pricing reference
Communicate effectively and appropriately with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, patients and their families to facilitate providing quality services and a positive image for the program
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of approved pharmacy technician training program
Current certification and license by the Washington State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
Current National Pharmacy Technician certification, or within 6 months upon hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience with QS/1 pharmacy software and Pyxis machines
Order entry experience
