Providence Health & Services Stationary Engineer in Torrance, California
Providence is calling a (Part Time/ Variable) Stationary Engineer to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance in Torrance, CA.
*Must be available every Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. as well as possible coverage of other shifts weekdays, weekends and/or holidays as needed
In this position you will:
- Perform a variety of semi - skilled mechanical tasks in the repair, servicing and general maintenance of the hospitals daily operation, its physical plant and equipment such as boilers, pumps, air conditioning equipment, electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Must possess a Valid California Driver's License
Three or more years experience performing maintenance procedures, preferably in a hospital or large commercial building setting
Auditory acuity necessary for performance duties
High school or Vocational school graduate
Have considerable physical strength, being required from time to time to lift items weighing as much as 50 pounds, i.e., ladders, cabinets, cables, fixtures, and tools.
Possess excellent coordination and dexterity.
Must be physically able to walk around the hospital, stand, climb, stoop, bend, and crawl into constricted areas.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
50 HP L.A City Stream Operator License
BOCA Building Engineer Level 3 or CSHE Sr. Mechanic certification.
Visual acuity is essential for reading gauges, repairing small equipment and related activities.
