Providence Health & Services Philanthropy Officer in Torrance, California
Providence is calling a Philanthropy Officer (Full Time, Day Shift) to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance in Torrance, CA.
We are seeking a Philanthropy Officer who will provide professional fund raising expertise leadership and management for the Providence Valley Service Area Foundation with major emphasis on generating significant financial support to help meet the needs of the hospital's stated goals and objectives for quality patient care. The Philanthropy Officer will work with the Executive Director/Chief Philanthropy Officer, Foundation staff members, the hospitals' Chief Executive, administrators, physicians and staff within the various medical center programs, with major donors, foundations, and other corporations to coordinate activity and accomplish fundraising targets.
In this position you will:
Demonstrate Providence Health & Services core values of respect, justice, compassion, stewardship, and excellence to customers, employees, and visitors; and provides quality service in the performance of work assignments and duties
Assist in developing a long range Strategic Plan that sets forth the Foundation mission, goals, strategies, objectives and budget; and assists in periodically evaluating and annually updating this Plan through the development of an annual Business Plan
Implement the Foundation’s long range Strategic and annual Business Plan
Direct the operations of the Providence Valley Service area campuses to obtain significant financial support for the Providence Valley Service area Medical Centers
Manage the day-to-day business and finances of the Foundation according to established policies and procedures
Carry a portfolio of approximately 100-125 major gift prospects/donors
Assist the volunteers in developing and maintaining highly qualified members to govern and lead the Foundation enterprise
Provide functional liaison between the Foundation and the hospital so as to coordinate the work of the Foundation with the various functions of the hospital. (Serves as the Foundation’s representative on committees such as requested; oversees the campus specific Friends of the Foundation Program)
Build, educate, and steward any campus specific volunteer structure that will successfully implement the organizational strategic plan
Provide 24 hour on call service for donors on a rotation basis
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
Five (5) years experience in successful fund raising development
