Providence Health & Services Patient Services Technician - Othopedic Surgery in Torrance, California

Providence is calling a Patient Services Tech, Per Diem, Evening 3p-11p Shift to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, CA.

In this position you will:

  • Under direct supervision, the Patient Services Technician is accountable to the bedside RN and Nurse Leader to facilitate a safe and secure environment for the patient, family and providers in the department in completion of the duties delegated to them for the shift and maintaining clear communication between the needs of the patient through the RN and Nurse Leader

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Completion of Medical Terminology course required or successful completion of hospital medical terminology test within 90 days of hire

  • One year recent experience as a Unit Secretary or equivalent position/experience

  • Proficient in Medical Terminology and/or take a class within 90 days of employment

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Basic computer skills

  • Outstanding Customer Service skills

  • Proficient in English both written and verbally
