Providence Health & Services Patient Financial Associate/Collector in Torrance, California
Providence is calling a (Full Time - Day shift) Patient Financial Associate to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, CA.
In this position you will:
Be accountable for the calculation of patient’s insurance financial liability
Perform bedside visits to obtain financial information from patient
Collect patient financial insurance liability including co-payment, deductible, co-insurance, private pay packaging, in addition to upfront collections
Collect and input patient information into EPIC to ensure accurate billing
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Healthcare related field
Minimum of 3 years overall experience in integrated healthcare system in access services, financial counseling, upfront collections, insurance or related position
Working knowledge of Patient Financial Services processes with emphasis on calculating and collecting patient financial liability including, deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and out of pocket maximum
Knowledge of upfront collection and cash practices
Must be able to multitask, coordinating more than one event at a time
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, and JC rules and regulations
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Epic Healthcare Systems experience
