We are seeking a Environmental Services Technician, Lead who will perform cleaning functions according to pre-established schedules and infection control guidelines. The EVS Technician's job responsibilities are to ensure that the physical environment of the hospital is hygienic, aesthetically clean, safe and in good repair at all times.
In this position you will:
Perform all duties of an EVS Technician including, but not limited to, general cleaning of patient and non-patient areas, occupied and discharge room cleaning, dust and damp mopping of floors and carpet vacuuming
Handling and removal of trash, soiled linen and biohazard waste
Operate EVS machinery such as buffers, extractors, scrubbers, burnishers, compactors, baler, etc.
Perform floor care procedures including stripping and refinishing, shampooing and extracting carpet, scrubbing and burnishing of floors
Delivering of housekeeping supplies and stocking of housekeeping carts
Transporting of clean linen carts
Cleaning of outside areas and entrances
Cleaning of elevators and stairwells
Be responsible for checking phone messages at shift start and respond to existing messages
Be responsible for ensuring that all EVS schedules are covered taking into account any absences and call-ins
Be responsible for knowing all EVS schedules and able to perform any schedule when the need arises
Be responsible for acting in manager’s or supervisor’s absence by insuring that all calls are responded to and that all cleaning schedules are satisfactorily completed
Properly and accurately utilizes Kronos timekeeping system
Sign in and out on "Sign-in" sheet daily
Checklist completed as assigned and submitted to supervisor
The Environmental Services Lead Technician performs his/her tasks in a responsible and professional manner at all times and is able to earn respect and cooperation from employees by utilizing leadership skills
Ability to train and motivate employees
Attend all department meetings/in-services
Be responsible for participating in hospital and departmental performance improvement projects
Prudent use of all EVS supplies and equipment
Able to identify supply shortages in storage closets by utilizing par levels and other indicators
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Six (6) months of EVS related job experience in a hospital setting
Able to perform duties in a courteous, caring manner
Must be self-motivated and self-directed, but willing to accept direction from supervisor or manager
Must have good customer service skills and be well versed in AIDET
Able to perform floor maintenance procedures such as stripping and refinishing, burnishing and carpet extraction
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
