Providence is calling a full time, night shift Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Assistant Nurse Manager to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance in Torrance, CA.
Providence Little Company of Mary’s ICU offers a physically beautiful work environment that has 28 beds of which 24 are private rooms. There are two large bay rooms with four bed total that are primarily used for the admission and recovery of immediate post open heart surgery patients. In this position you will:
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is responsible for assisting the nurse manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit. In collaboration with the nurse manager, assumes 24/7 responsibility for the management and staffing of the unit.
The ANM manages and coordinates the unit, directs and supervises functions and activities, interprets policies/procedures/protocols, standards, and regulations as appropriate. The scope of responsibility spans all aspects of nursing care.
The ANM maintains clinical competence and certifications to assist the unit when required.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree completed within 3 years of accepting position
3 years of recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital required
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
Proven leadership ability and hospital operational expertise
Ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing
Strong knowledge base or experience in specialty areas assigned
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience
Shared Governance experience
