Providence is calling a CT Technologist (Per Diem/Variable Shift) to our Providence Cears-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center in Tarzana, CA.

We are seeking a CT Technologist who will report to the Manager or Director of Imaging, perform computerized tomography scans of patients of all ages following established protocols and procedures. Scans head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis and musculoskeletal areas. Evaluates images for diagnostic quality and practice ALARA to minimize radiation exposure to patients.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Promote patient, physician, customer and employee satisfaction by personal example, treating all contacts with respect

Communicate and follow the organizational chain of command for notification of patient care/service issues, when appropriate
Maintain required applicable licensure, certification and education
Attend and successfully complete general and department orientation, in-service programs and the annual key competencies and mandatory update requirements
Participate actively in department staff meetings
Demonstrate effective verbal and written communications
Comply with hospital policies and procedures regarding acceptable:
Attendance, Timekeeping, Dress code, Professionalism
Use of Standard Precautions in all patient contact as applicable
The provision of a safe environment for patients, visitors and co-workers
Report and respond to facility emergencies such as fire, infant abduction, and disruption in utilities and hazardous materials spills
Report all suspected abuse or neglect
Demonstrate skill in the use of equipment including its capabilities, limitations and appropriate/special applications
Ensure that the rights of all patients are respected and maintained by allowing for privacy, cultural diversity and dignity in the provision of care
Demonstrate a positive professional image, performs responsibilities in a professional manner, demonstrates flexibility in the provision of patient care/service and utilizes a collaborative approach with co-workers
Function as a team member, contributing to the smooth operations of the unit on a day to day basis, and for the patients/customer’s overall general welfare
Demonstrate willingness to perform tasks generally designated to be done by others, when the need arises
Demonstrate organizational skills including prioritization and time management
Identify problems, implement appropriate solutions and evaluate effectiveness
Utilize appropriate resources when indicated to resolve conflicts, solve problems and achieve goals
Identify and communicate opportunities to improve care or service
Establish yearly goals that will enhance personal job performance
Seek and utilize new approaches to problem solving, reaching goals and/or new programs
Ensure human and material resources of the organization are used responsibly and in accordance with hospital policy
Identify cost saving strategies appropriate to the department
Demonstrate knowledge of age specific care for the neonate through the geriatric population, including but not limited to identifying the need for additional safety measures, or activities that place patients at risk. Applicable for the populations: Infant, Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric
Obtain patient history, cooperation and consent. Explains procedures and addresses any patient concerns
Position patients to obtain clinical areas of interests, immobilizing patient to prevent motion and artifacts
Operate CT scanner as directed by manufacture specification and in compliance with hospital requirements
Select scanning techniques such as slice thickness and algorithm that best demonstrates anatomy and pathology of interest
Evaluate images for diagnostic quality, reformat images using appropriate window and level settings, and send images to radiologists for review
Start IV for contrast administration or administer contrast orally
Assist physician in biopsies, drainage and aspirations, and other interventional procedures.
Demonstrate willingness & ability to float to areas within their scope of practice as necessary.
Additional Responsibilities when the care giver is a team leader:
Perform Imaging procedures in compliance with department protocols
Perform quality assurance/quality control systems or programs assigned
Assist in staff scheduling
Resolve patient care issues and concerns
Address patient scheduling issues
Serve as a preceptor, mentor and support to coworkers and students
Perform daily work queues
Report any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to Management.
Attend Lead meetings
Demonstrate high integrity, accountability, and tactfulness
Must be respectful and equitable in dealings
Display superior work ethics and professionalism
Required qualifications for this position include:
Successfully completed a program in radiological technology
Successfully completed training in computer assisted tomography or
2 years of CT experience in an acute care setting
ARRT, CT registry; or 2 years of CT experience in an acute care setting
CRT Radiologic license
Current LA City Fire Card within 30 days of hire
