Providence is calling a Surgery Scheduler ( Orthopedics , Day Shift, Full Time) to Physician Management Group in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Coordinate patient referrals, verify insurance eligibility and ensure authorizations are obtained by date of visit. Make appropriate arrangements for patient when authorization cannot be obtained.
Coordinate and schedule surgeries and other ancillary tests as ordered by the practice provider. Secures operating room block time and ensures maximum efficiency and productivity.
Maintain waiting room to include ensuring magazines are organized, there is no trash in the waiting area, maintaining kids area etc.
Provide front desk coverage as needed. Answer incoming phone lines and schedules patient appointments according to office policy. Take complete phone messages, route and/or screen phone calls as appropriate.
Initiate patient check-in and check-out for all scheduled appointments. Prepare charts, fee slips, and labels for scheduled appointments. Obtain and input updated patient demographic and insurance information; photocopy front and back of all insurance cards and verifies insurance eligibility.
Collect patient co-payments and outstanding patient balances.
Reconcile cash box, fee slips, co-payments, and receipts daily and submits to office manager on a daily basis.
Print missing charge report and denial report on a weekly basis. Work report and submit corrections to billing office in a timely fashion. Provide feedback to office staff and provider on reasons for errors and make suggestions for decreasing future deficiencies.
Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Adhere to established company compliance, policies, procedures and protocols.
Required qualifications for this position include:
- 1 year medical office/billing setting or financial institution experience
