Providence RN Patient Placement Coordinator - 0.9 FTE/Variable Shifts in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a RN Patient Placement Coord (Nursing Administration, Variables, 0.9 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Gather patient information/records, assess for appropriate placement based on patient condition, confirm bed availability, confirm accepting physician or assist caller in connecting to a physician using an approved on-call list
Actively work with Administrative (House) Supervisor and appropriate nurse leaders to establish a plan for continuing to absorb admissions; maintaining patient flow
Centrally prioritizes transport needs during high census and works with transport dispatch and other available resources to maximize patient flow
Be knowledgeable and able to interpret available IT resources that maximize patient flow and understands correlation between programs such as Ramses, HASB, MedTRAK, CAW and MedHost
Conduct initial Intake Review Process for Direct Admissions and Inter-facility Transfers
Facilitate process for obtaining initial physician orders, including orders to implement routine orders/protocols as requested. Acts as a back up to unit CNS for documenting telephone orders, and assures orders are sent to unit prior to patient arrival in a formal hand-off
Review OR/Procedural schedules daily & identifies any procedures that are lists under Medicare APC rules as inpatient billed only. If a case is scheduled as an outpatient and can only be billed as inpatient, intervenes to change status and location of service as needed
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field or equivalent education/experience
3 years Registered Nurse in an acute care setting
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree in Nursing or related field
Previous managerial experience in nursing
