Providence Health & Services RN – Mechanical Heart Coordinator in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse - Mechanical Heart Coordinator (Advanced Heart Disease, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Have responsibility for assignments involving technical and clinical support to include ventricular assist device preparation, device readiness, implant period management, device monitoring, post implant analysis and clinical training.
Share 24-hour responsibility for mechanical heart follow-up, including coordination of hospital admissions and monitoring clinical progress.
Actively participate in all Mechanical Heart Implants, Temporary Devices (excluding Impella CP) and procedures requiring sedation for this patient population.
Facilitate patient care through transplant clinic held every Monday and Thursday afternoon, with a strong focus on outpatient follow-up.
Travel/participate in outreach clinics both locally and in the PNW.
Effectively use transplant committee as an opportunity for care conference regarding difficult cases.
Provide professional, peer and patient education and participate in the development of patient education programs.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Washington State, with current RN license or ability to obtain upon offer. Must have active WA RN license in order to start in this position.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Recent nursing experience in cardiac critical care or cardiac step-down
2 years caring for mechanical heart patients or exposure to this population.
