Providence Rehabilitation Technician in Spokane, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Rehabilitation Technician (Physical Therapy, Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Joseph Care Center in Spokane, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

In this position you will:

  • Assist therapists to provide treatment in accordance with patients’ plans of care; assist with measuring and assessing patient status.

  • Prepare patients for therapy, transport them to/from therapy areas, and assist therapists with patient scheduling.

  • Encourage patients to perform and/or participate in ADLs.

  • Assist with and participate in therapy assessments as needed; implement education plan, and report additional educational needs to evaluating therapist. Prepares for patient treatment by obtaining equipment or needed supplies.

  • Oversee ordering, tracking, and record keeping for all therapy equipment, (i.e. Wheelchairs, walkers, canes, lap trays, etc.) including monitoring for maintenance and repair.

  • Maintain department records specific to the resident/patient treatment plan, to include tracking therapy paperwork.

  • Maintain and submit complete and accurate treatment records, progress notes, and other documentation; assist with preparation and maintenance of billing documentation, and other outcomes measurement documentation.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

  • Current licensure with the State of Washington as Nursing Assistant Certified

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Within ninety (90) days of the date of hire the employee is responsible for attending a Providence St. Joseph Care Center Skills Review class if they do not have a current CPR card upon hire

Preferred qualification for this position include:

  • 3 months of long-term care or related geriatric and/or rehabilitative experience

Providence St. Joseph Care Center in Spokane, Washington is located on the campus of Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital. Our Transitional Care Unit is designed for patients coming out of the hospital who need skilled nursing care, end of life care, or rehabilitation for those recovering from surgery or who have a functional loss from illness, disease, or an accident. Our Long Term Care unit provides skilled nursing in a residential setting, addressing the needs of our residents through creating a sense of community and home and providing a model of care that is resident-centered.
