Providence is calling a Physical Therapy Assistant (Acute Physical Therapy, Days, 0.5 FTE) to Providence St Luke's Rehabilitation Institute in Spokane, Washington. This position will be supporting weekend shifts..
In this position you will:
Implement treatment plan established by supervising therapist and communicates with therapist regarding patient response to treatment and any needed modifications to treatment plan.
Ensure patient and family understand the therapy process and their involvement in treatment as appropriate.
Perform treatments and patient care activities in a timely and safe manner following appropriate policy and procedure.
Meet productivity goals per department standards.
Assess and document the learning needs of patients and families in cooperation with supervising therapist and carries out specific measures to meet the assessed learning needs and documents in progress notes, i.e., home programs and pass assessments.
Present information clearly and in a manner appropriate to the level of patient and family member understanding.
Attend and participates in patient care conferences when necessary.
Depict the patient's current status accurately according to department charting guidelines.
Summarize the patient's status on transfer or discharge in conjunction with supervising therapist.
Record patient charges accurately and promptly.
Determine need for outpatient therapy and follow-up and make post discharge recommendation in collaboration with supervising therapist.
Provide patient and family with training and information needed for successful management in the discharge setting.
Obtain and record patient data accurately and promptly.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
Washington State licensed or eligible.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) certification for the Healthcare Provider or obtain within first 30 days of employment.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Recent applicable clinical experience.
