Providence Health & Services Pediatric Emergency Department Assistant in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling an Pediatric Emergency Department Assistant (Pediatric Emergency Services, Variable, 0.0 FTE, Supplemental) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors.
Obtain and record vital signs, height, weight and other applicable measurements.
Perform treatment/procedures such as applying topical ointments, surgical skin preparations and application of ice packs and heat.
Meet the hygienic, elimination, comfort and safety needs of patients.
Assist licensed staff in the preparation of patients for treatments/procedures.
Assist in physically lifting and/or restraining confused/combative patients.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or equivalent
Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist licensure in Washington state required within 60 days of hire
Ability to communicate fluently (speaking and writing) using the English language
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Emergency Room Assistant/Tech experience, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) experience or certification as a Nursing Assistant Certified (CNA) with a minimum of 6 months prior experience
