Providence Health & Services Occupational Therapist in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling an Occupational Therapist (Occupational Therapy, Day Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence St. Joseph Care Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Evaluates assigned patients, develops and implements a treatment and discharge plan based on results and modifies it as necessary to meet resident/patient goals taking into consideration the age related needs of the patient.
Provides documentation of patient services according to departmental policies.
Assumes case management and patient advocacy roles as needed.
Continually upgrades clinical skill level.
Participates in program development inservices and staff meetings as requested unless excused by supervisor.
Adheres to facility and departmental safety policies and procedures.
Supervises therapy students according to professional and department guidelines.
Meets departmental productivity target.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with residents, patients, sisters, families, physicians and staff.
Participates in quality assurance programs, including peer review.
Actively supports treatment team, department, and rehabilitation goals and objectives.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, as well as meeting all clinical affiliation requirements and passing national exam
Current Occupational Therapy (OT) licensure or certification in Washington State
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within 90 days of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 1 year of experience in rehab or acute setting OR relevant intern experience

Providence St. Joseph Care Center in Spokane, Washington is located on the campus of Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital. Our Transitional Care Unit is designed for patients coming out of the hospital who need skilled nursing care, end of life care, or rehabilitation for those recovering from surgery or who have a functional loss from illness, disease, or an accident. Our Long Term Care unit provides skilled nursing in a residential setting, addressing the needs of our residents through creating a sense of community and home and providing a model of care that is resident-centered.
