Providence Health & Services Environmental Services Aide in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling an Environmental Aide/Housekeeper (Environmental Services, Day Shift, 0.5 FTE) to Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Accepts and supports the mission and values of Holy Family Hospital.
Supports the Performance Improvement process.
Maintains a safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
Considers individual needs in communication with patients and staff of all age groups, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious, and age-specific aspects, to include all ages.
Supports patient rights and the organization’s code of ethical behavior.
Follow the principles and requirements outlined in the Commitments & Compliance Integrity Program Employee Handbook and any other organizational or departmental materials related to compliance with laws and regulatory requirements.
Cleans and services patient and associated building areas.
Selects cleaning materials, supplies, and prepares. Requests cleaning supplies and equipment as needed. Returns unused supplies to janitor closet and ensures all items are replaced in orderly manner.
Cleans and remakes patient beds.
Cleans assigned areas by washing furniture, tile, texture, walls, doors, door frames, ceiling, vents, television, windows, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions.
Maintains hard floors by burnishing, scrubbing, top coating, and stripping floor finish.
Dust mops and wet mops floor areas; vacuums carpets, spot-cleans carpets, shampoos carpets, using appropriate solutions; arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned area.
Operates various mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment, including buffers, wringers, scrubbers, vacuums.
Cleans equipment and notifies manager of equipment needing repair. Reports safety hazards to manager.
Required qualifications for this position include:
H.S. Diploma or GED.
Desire a small amount of experience, sufficient to acquire general familiarity with methods and terminology in commonplace work situations of the Environmental Services field; usually interpreted as between six months and one year of experience.
Ability to read and write.
