Providence Health & Services Communication Specialist in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Communication Specialist to our location in Spokane, WA. This position must be based in Spokane and will not consider remote workers at this time.
We are seeking a Communication Specialist who will engage in broad internal/external communication projects to support organization-wide programs and initiatives, and assists with developing consistent, clear messaging to all Providence St. Joseph Health audiences. In collaboration with department leadership and teams, the specialist performs various communication tasks and functions to support the strategy, planning and delivery of communication efforts.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Proven ability to work with the team to write, create and implement communication projects, including photography/video, messaging and story development that meets Providence standards.
Ensure the organizational voice and narrative, and Mission, Vision and Values of Providence are present in all communication efforts. Reinforce and strengthen our identity as a Catholic health care ministry through consistent, proactive communication sharing.
Provide ongoing communication support for the team. Ensure alignment of organizational and region/service area/ministry messaging and communication programs.
Monitor and track media coverage, assemble coverage reports for internal audiences in order to emphasize importance of earned and social media success.
Work closely with marketing and communication leadership at the system and regional level to align and coordinate messaging and positioning across audiences.
Support budget and invoice management and tracking, perform to budget and goals.
Help create content for social media, internal communications and earned media/public relations. Storytelling skills, including visual supports such as photos, videos, presentations and more.
Support local events including community health, employee engagement and media-driven events.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in communication, public relations, marketing, business administration or related -OR- equivalent education/experience.
2 years demonstrated experience in supporting broad-based and successful communication teams and programs.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Communication experience in health care.
Experience in a faith-based health system/organization.
