Providence Health & Services Clinical Documentation Specialist in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Clinical Documentation Specialist (Case Management, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. In this position you will:
Provide education, direction and consultation to staff, management, colleagues, physicians and others about the CDMP program, its relationship to compliance rules under Medicare law, its importance to appropriate coding and billing within the revenue cycle.
Provide education and consultation methods to improve clinical documentation.
Coordinate work with other Case Managers and coders within Patient Information Management.
Use CDMP computerized software with expertise.
Contribute to performance improvement efforts with the CMS department for clinical documentation, and in other areas of clinical improvement in concert with the P.I. Department.
Actively participate in the CMS governance model, peer review, education and support processes.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Washington State
5 years of recent hospital nursing experience in MedSurg, Acute or Critical Care
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Etc.)
Evidence of strong communication and negotiation skills
Completion of pre-employment assessement
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Previous experience in clinical documentation
Previous case management experience
