Providence Health & Services ADH Personal Care/ Rehab/Activity Aide - Spokane Adult Day Health in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a ADH Personal Care/Rehab/Activity Aide (0.8 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Spokane Adult Day Health Providence Elderplace in Spokane, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
The ADH Personal Care/Rehab/Activity Aide assists therapists, nurses and activity coordinator in providing personal care to clients. Leads therapy groups under the direction of the Certified Rehab RN. Leads structured activities under the direction of the activity coordinator.
In this position, you will:
Assist Physical therapist and Rehab certified RN with restorative therapy and individual therapy needs.
Monitor patient reaction to therapy and reports significant changes or developments to therapist.
Assist in transferring patients between different surfaces as needed.
Assist in general department maintenance by performing light housekeeping tasks on a frequent basis:
Perform scheduled cleaning and maintenance of department equipment and supplies per department procedures.
Maintain a safe environment for clients, staff and visitors.
Communicate effectively to clients, staff and visitors.
Consider individual needs in the treatment of clients and staff, including ethical, cultural, psychosocial, religious and age specific aspects for impaired adults and the elderly.
Attend daily meetings to receive and give updates on clients and schedules.
Assist with rehab exercises and recreational activity program.
Perform toileting and personal care of clients.
Assist with safe movement of clients to and from groups and activities.
Serve lunches according to CACFP guidelines and assists clients with eating as needed.
Ensure safe lifting and transfer of clients.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications for this position include:
AHA-BLS required within 3 months of hire
PLs 540 and 580: In compliance with company policy and state regulations, a Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check is required for this position.
Preferred qualification for this position include:
- 1 year experience working with older adults
