Providence Health & Services Senior User Experience (UX) Researcher in Seattle, Washington
The Digital Innovation Group (DIG) at Providence St. Joseph Health is a small but mighty product development and incubation team that is building next-gen tools that give patients convenient and easy access to healthcare virtually anywhere, anytime.
We are seeking a Senior User Experience (UX) Researcher in Seattle, WA to plan and conduct user research through leadership and management of the system’s online presence, including public websites, the intranet, physician and patient portals, as well as social media platforms, mobile applications and other extensions of the digital experience.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Identify opportunities for and prepare research proposals
Set research goals based on input from Product Management and User-Centered Design teams.
Design research protocols and prepare research plans.
Plan and execute user research activities such as participant recruiting and scheduling, materials production, lab preparation, and other logistics.
Lead rapid iterative usability testing of wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
Translate research findings into design recommendations to quickly improve product designs early in the design cycle.
Establish and socialize success criteria for projects, ensuring shared vision of the project’s goals and objectives.
Required qualifications for this position include:
7 years of experience in user research, user interface design, information architecture, usability testing, human factors, and other related disciplines.
Bachelors degree in a related area such as psychology, human factors or HCI
Extensive experience in methodologies for uncovering user needs and product opportunities
Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking. Must possess ability to analyze and present data and research with credibility.
Must be comfortable working “virtually” with team members outside the immediate environment.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
A background in ethnography and cognitive science methods.
A Masters or PhD in a related area such as psychology, human factors or HCI
