Providence Health & Services Senior Staffing Coordinator in Seattle, Washington
Providence is calling a Senior Staffing Coordinator (1.0 FTE, Day Shift) to work in Nursing Administration at Providence Mount St. Vincent in Seattle, Washington. This position will be working 10 hour shift with weekend coverage every 3 weeks.

Provides customer service to Neighborhood Coordinators by helping to ensure optimum staffing within budgeted levels. Maintains quality Float Pool Staff for utilization in any neighborhood. Provides periodic analytic reports to Administration to maintain cost effectiveness and control. This position is jointly shared by another Neighborhood Staff Coordinator.
In this position you will:
STAFFING: Create and enter schedules for nursing center float staff. Maintain daily staffing sheets and monthly schedules. Work in conjunction with Neighborhood Coordinators and Float Personnel to assure appropriate staff assignments. Authorize overtime as needed to maintain minimal staffing levels on units. Delegate essential daily staffing functions to assigned staff as necessary to ensure full 24-hour coverage.
FLOAT POOL – ON/CALL STAFF MANAGEMENT: Assist in hiring nursing center float and on-call resident assistants. Set up training program for new on-calls. Check with preceptor that new employee can be released to work in on-call pool. Ensure that new hire meets all facility requirements. Complete annual performance appraisals of Float Pool Staff in a timely manner. Provide Float Pool Staff with continuous feedback in order to maintain quality control. Enforce the Policies and Procedures of Mount St Vincent as they relate to Float Pool Staff, including implementing corrective actions as warranted.
DATABASE SYSTEMS AND CONTROLS: Correct and update daily staffing sheets as needed. Give report every two weeks regarding overtime use and staffing issues. Assist Neighborhood Coordinators in implementing control systems and monitoring staff absenteeism as deemed necessary. Produce reports of worker's compensation and light duty at the request of Safety Risk Manager.
PAYROLL FUNCTIONS –Assist Neighborhood Coordinators and other department managers in monitoring hours and E-time coding. Maintain E-time and Payroll information at the Mount for the entire facility; verifies and completes all final E-time hours and vacation, sick and holidays before final submission to Renton payroll Specialist. Track all data pertaining to each payroll, keeping the Director of Operations informed of all overtime, sick, training, regular, annual, FMLA hours. Work with staff and Renton Payroll Specialist to facilitate resolution of payroll problems. Train new managers in E-time and payroll functions.
Required qualifications for this position include:
2 years of experience in health facilities staffing or equivalent
Food Handler's Permit (or must obtain within 14 days of hire
PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Health Administration or related field or equivalent educ/experience
