We are looking for a Senior Director, Chief of Staff in Seattle, WA . This position will have end to end responsibility for the business and administrative operations of the Digital team comprising eight executives (Vice Presidents) and more than 120 people.
The position will advise the Chief Digital Officer, and serve as a thought partner on major strategic considerations; coordinate and execute strategy; improve the team’s capabilities and performance where possible; and deliver on analysis and consulting assignments. She/he will also be responsible for internal team communications, certain external speaking engagements, and working with HR to drive more effective recruiting, caregiver engagement, and mission integration for the digital organization. and clinicians.
What you’ll be doing:
You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels in Providence Strategic and Management Services (PSMS), as well as with other Providence Health & Services staff, vendors and agents, and others. The position will regularly be called upon for presentations to colleagues outside of Providence and outside of the healthcare industry.
How you’ll be doing this:
You will be a thought partner to the Chief Digital Officer and team.
Conduct studies of complex issues that do not fit neatly into the major groups reporting into the Chief Digital Officer
Look for opportunities to improve the team’s effectiveness through developing processes that enable better execution, rhythm of the business, and effective meeting/process management
Lead through influence, working with team members across the organization.
Capture action items and thinks strategically about driving complex decision making and accountability in a highly matrixed and complex organization helping the team get to the best possible solution in the shortest possible time.
Serve as primary administrative contact with Providence shared services on matters related to Contracts, Procurement, Legal, HR, Recruiting, Facilities, Finance, IT improving the integration between these teams and the Innovation team.
Serve as the advocate and change agent where current processes do not support our needs.
Provide meeting support in preparation of agendas; dissemination of meeting materials; follow-up reports, and helping Chief Digital Officer drive accountability and follow up with his team and other teams.
Help the team develop an operational rhythm that will support the team’s mission of shipping innovations that will help PSJH serve patients, caregivers and clinicians more effectively.
Draft, develop and deliver communications to department staff and external parties.
Partner with Finance team to track progress and develop Long Range Financial Plan and operating plan narrative documents.
Drive analyses by finding accurate data sources within the organization to support fact-based, data-driven strategic decisions quickly.
Will also be responsible for internal team communications
Working with HR to drive more effective recruiting, caregiver engagement, and mission integration for the digital organization.
External/internal speaking engagements and presentation of the PSJH strategy and mission
Bring us your expertise:
- Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, and an MBA from a top 20 school or other advanced degree.
- 5-10 years of experience minimum in a leadership role, in a consulting role is preferred, so as to have the perspective of the leader they are supporting. Experience with a major consulting firm a plus. Experience in healthcare and technology a definite plus.
Comfortable with ambiguity and a fast-paced start-up environment in which you strive to install lightweight processes to help scale the business and drive better decision making.
A demonstrated track record of being a change agent, leaving every team and process better than you found it.
Must be extremely analytical and facile with complex financial and business analysis.
Able to work with teams to source data, analyze and interpret quickly and accurately.
Background in healthcare and technology preferred.
Must be able to dive deep into issues, understand the details, and synthesize and communicate a clear strategy.
Ability to think differently about how to solve problems and get large organizations to innovate quickly.
A demonstrated track record of building efficient, low weight, high-quality processes that result in great decisions and rapid execution.
