Providence is calling a Infection Preventionist RN (Clinical Support Services, Day Shift (Mon-Fri: 8am-4:30pm, No Weekends, Holidays, or On-Call) 1.0 FTE) to Providence ElderPlace in Seattle, Washington. The Infection Preventionist RN provides clinical expertise and serves as a consultant and educator to Providence ElderPlace staff. This position collaborates with the Medical Director to lead ElderPlace's infection control activities and fosters high-quality patient care by implementing and promoting best-known Infection Control practices. The Infection Preventionist RN provides leadership to enhance and improve Infection Control clinical practice, and serves as a resource for Infection Control questions and education.
In this position you will:
Infection Control •Serves as the agency infection control officer under the direction of the agency medical director. •Coordinates the agency infection control program, including identification of infectious disease processes, surveillance and epidemiologic investigation, and preventing and controlling the transmission of infectious agents. •Directs agency activities to ensure the environment of care meets infection control standards. •Serves as the expert on issues related to cleaning, sterilization, disinfection and asepsis. •Maintains employee health files to meet regulatory compliance with health screens, communicable disease vaccination records, and infection tracking. •Maintains participant infection control log to meet regulatory compliance with communicable disease reporting requirements and infection surveillance. •Keeps informed of PACE program regulation changes, changing healthcare environment needs, changing department procedures, and collaborates with the Medical Director, Director of Operations, Clinic Operations Manager, and Site Operations Managers to develop WA PACE clinical practices to respond to these changes. •Provides consultation for complex cases, and serves as a liaison to site managers for consultation and resources. •Arranges and supervises vaccine campaigns, as needed. •Performs site audit readiness. •Performs timely documentation, according to standards
FLOAT RN •Provides excellent and appropriate nursing care by applying nursing standards of practice in completing assessments, developing and implementing nursing care plans for assigned group of participants. •Performs Clinical Nurse duties such as venipunctures, wound care foot care when assigned to this role •Coordinates and facilitates the nursing aspect of participant care in conjunction with other IDT members and community caregivers. •Collaborates with the IDT in developing and implementing holistic plan of care appropriate to individual participant and to community setting. •COMMUNICATION •Ability to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing. •Ability to follow appropriate communications channels. •Demonstrates effectiveness in communication with variety of colleagues and modes of communication techniques/styles; ability to tailor communication style to effectively convey message to others. •Effectively communicates with members of the inter-disciplinary team, nursing and clinical staff, Medical Director, Director of Operations, Clinic Operations Manager, and Site Operations managers and staff about clinical information as it is updated. •Participates/facilitates as needed, in nursing, leadership, ethical and/or clinical consults, and work group meetings. •Communicates with participants and significant others, addressing their concerns/issues in a timely manner. •Performs reporting responsibilities (infection control, APS, Board of Nursing, etc.).
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree Nursing Or equivalent educ/experience
3 years Inpatient, ambulatory, home health, hospice, or long term care experience.
1 year Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)
1 year Clinical review and audit activity experience
1 year Infection Control activities (identification, surveillance, investigation, and prevention) experience.
Current, unencumbered Washington license as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions related to working in an environment where narcotics are available.
Current BLS required at time of hire. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Health Care Provider certification required within 6 months of hire.
Current driver's license
