Providence Health & Services Human Resources Director in Seattle, Washington
Providence is calling a Human Resources Director to Providence Health & Services in Seattle, WA to support Swedish Medical Center.
We are seeking a Director, Human Resources to be responsible for leading the HR Team, developing and aligning HR strategies with the business needs. Accountable for setting and ensuring high qualities and standards for HR service delivery. Serves as trusted advisor to executives. Provides solutions to complex or critical issues. Determines HR implications of changing business needs and recommends actions to be taken. Leads consulting efforts to achieve outcomes. Fosters an environment of continuous improvement by motivating, mentoring, and developing others. Demonstrate the capacity to strategically shape change, promote fiscal responsibility and integration of the core values while meeting the organization’s strategies and objectives.
Director, HR Strategic Partners performs all duties in a manner which promotes teamwork and reflects the Providence Health & Services mission, values and philosophy and the values of the human resources division.
In this position you will:
Act as strategic partner and advisor to the leaders of the organization.
Provide leadership, direction, coaching and development for the HR Strategic Partners (HRSP).
Serve as a member of the local leadership team and provide advice to the local Executives and other team members. Work collaboratively to eliminate organizational redundancy and duplication and to facilitate organizational change to improve delivery of quality, cost-effective health care within an integrated system.
Responsible for supporting managers in repositioning, redeployment or restructuring activities. Provides latest source of effective tools, including organization design and analysis and preferred Organizational Development practice to achieve the manager’s goals.
Coach and counsel leadership on human resources concerns to manage business, labor, and legal risk, and supports employee engagement and performance management.
Work collaboratively with OD team to coach and facilitate activities in support of succession planning and other employee development initiatives.
Coach and facilitate leadership development activities including assessing needs and skills of business unit, and providing department specific support.
Serve as a consultant to leaders on employee engagement activities and support and promotes the ProvVoice survey process. Strategizes with leaders to develop action plans.
Partner with leaders regarding organizational changes that may involve staff reassignments, staff reductions and resource pool assignments and the services related to the termination of employment including outplacement as needed for assigned areas.
Provide HR leadership for acquisitions, business line closures, divestures, and mergers. Examples: financial turnaround plans, business realignments, Productivity Council.
Lead HR partner in the design, implementation and evaluation of HR solutions to complex business problems.
Broker services provided through HR experts as needed to support business initiatives.
Collaborate with HR Consultant in AAP plan and goals development. Implements action steps and coordinates communication of plans as appropriate.
Lead the development of recommendations to support customers'' business for short and long term strategic planning. Examples: workforce planning, staff reduction, leadership development.
Use tools such as OAD and OE in support of strategic initiatives and change management. Partners with SMS or other strategic departments.
Liaison with Talent Acquisition to develop workforce planning strategies, recruiting strategies, advertisements and candidate review.
Lead other projects and initiatives as assigned. Example: Compact work (assessment, working/not, roles & responsibilities, contracting agreements, culture strategy development and spread).
In conjunction with HR Consultant, create action plans based on data analysis and business objectives, e.g. develops retention strategies and assists in implementation.
Champion alignment with system and regional/service areas/lines of service strategies throughout the organization.
Ensure follow up activities occur after employee relations assessments or problem resolution.
Required qualifications for this position include:
8 years of experience as an HR Strategic Partner or HR Consultant.
Minimum of 10 years of professional human resources experience at an exempt level with at least 5 years of leadership experience.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Multi-site/location, multi-line of business, and/or integrated health system experience.
