Providence Cook - Assisted Living in Seattle, Washington
Providence is calling a Cook (Assisted Living, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence ElderPlace in Seattle, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Prepares orders by cooking or preparing food items for each meal service; Food preparation may include hot and cold menu items and must be prepared using the standard recipes and departmental guidelines.
Notes variances in recipes and guidelines and communicates challenges to Executive Chef/Manager.
Consistently demonstrates advanced high volume culinary skills to include preparation, sauté, blanch, poach, grill, steam, boil, simmer, deep fry, braise, roast, sear and emulsify.
Serve food at each meal demonstrating positive interactions with the public and positive interpersonal relations.
Deal with fellow employees, supervisors, and other department employee so that productivity and positive employee relations are maximized while ensuring consistent quality of guest services.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
Food Handler's Permit (or must obtain within 14 days of hire)
TB test to be completed by start date
Six (6) months experience in
Cooking with industrial cooking equipment
Restaurant and/or institutional food service
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Six (6) months experience in customer service
