Providence Health & Services Business Intelligence Developer - Principal in Seattle, Washington
Providence is calling a BI Developer - Principal to Providence Health & Services in Seattle, WA (preferred) or Renton, WA.
We are seeking a BI Developer - Principal to be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of reports, reporting processes, and supporting documentation as well as providing analytical support. Reports will be developed utilizing Tableau, Business Objects Web Intelligence, Excel, and other tools. The Business Intelligence Developer must perform business and technical analysis to develop appropriate Business Intelligence solutions. In-depth understanding of Tableau and/or Web-I, SQL, and ad-hoc report development are necessary. In addition, this position may provide day to day oversight, project direction, mentoring, and guidance to other BI Developers.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to generate reporting requirements
Design and develop appropriate Business Intelligence solutions utilizing Tableau, Web-Intelligence, and other reporting tools
Develop SQL queries and stored procedure to satisfy data and reporting requirements
Develop and maintain documentation
Provide business analysis as needed
Plan, organize, and coordinate activity in assigned technical area (Business Intelligence) to ensure stable, sustainable operations
Research, draft, and update technical and user documentation in multiple mediums, which may include technical writing, user documentation, online documentation, newsletters, or emails
Support relevant activity on multiple projects / initiatives, adapting to changing priorities
Maintain day-to-day workflow and manage communication both internally and externally
Collect user requirements and ability to understand complex business needs
Develop Business Intelligence solutions
Provide data analysis as needed
Take the initiative to identify and resolve problems
Create reports for management and team members as assigned
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all deliverables
Respond to a large volume of requests for assistance or service in an orderly and timely fashion
Maintain strong and positive working relationships with all customers, providers, vendors, and fellow team members.
Required qualifications for this position include:
BA/BS degree preferably in Healthcare Informatics or related quantitative field; or equivalent experience.
4 years’ experience developing content using Tableau.
6 years’ experience with SQL queries (T-SQL, PL/SQL, etc.)
5 years’ experience developing content using SAP Business Objects Web-Intelligence.
2 years using ETL tools on the SSIS platform.
Demonstrated work experience in organizing, facilitating, and assisting in project management.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
SharePoint experience is strongly preferred.
Experience in a healthcare setting.
Experience in Agile/scrum environment.
Some software development experience is preferred.
