We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA2) - Medical Surgical who will be responsible for performing direct patient care services related to activities of daily living and for auxiliary support as related to nursing unit functioning. An employee responsible for patient care must be competent in the assessment, treatment, and age-related care. Consequently, the employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior, and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial and chronological maturation process. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Assist with the physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patients, as directed by the Registered or Licensed Practical Nurses
Ensure that safe and effective patient care is rendered within the assigned areas of responsibility
Communicate all pertinent patient and unit data to the primary nurse or the charge nurse
Interact effectively with other members of the health care team, i.e., PT, RT, etc. to provide coordinated patient care
Demonstrate correct use of equipment required to perform necessary job functions
Demonstrate awareness of the impact of self on others and the ability to respond appropriately
Understand and adhere to proper channels of communication
Participate in quality management programs and utilizes findings to improve patient care
Attend a minimum of 75% of all staff meetings
Demonstrate reliability and flexibility through low absenteeism and responding to hospital needs during periods of high and low census
Plan and utilize daily assignment, with the direction of Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse, to assure coordinated, safe, and accurate provision of patient care
Communicate with nurse having primary patient responsibility positive and negative responses to care rendered
Assist other staff members as needed
Follow dress code consistently
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course -OR- Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements
Active and unencumbered license in the state of Oregon as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Must attain their certification to practice as a CNA 2 in the state of Oregon within nine (9) months of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- One (1) year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA 2)
