We are seeking a Manager Health Information Management - Home Services Home Intake that will be responsible and accountable for Home & Community Care (HCC) HIM team operations, overseeing caregiver support and engagement, managing HIM processes that impact the revenue cycle, and ensuring HCC medical records are maintained in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards and requirements. This position manages on-site and remote teams that provide clinical support and HIM services for multiples HCC sites and regions.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Plan, prioritizes, and maintains team processes that enable, support and promote optimum performance and meet federal, state, organizational and accreditation regulations and guidelines
Manage staffing schedules and allocation of resources to ensure timely completion of functions
Recruit, hire, and retain a diverse work force
Promote behaviors and tactics that supports a highly engaged team including coaching, mentoring, and developing caregivers
Complete performance appraisals in a timely manner
In collaboration with the HIM Director and Human Resources, initiates as needed progressive counseling and disciplinary steps to address caregiver performance
Ensure processes and actions performed by the team support and protect the integrity and confidentiality of the medical record
Lead team meetings and huddles to ensure caregivers are informed on team and organizational updates
Develop and manages productivity measurements that monitor and measure team efficiency, goal achievement and overall team effectiveness
Collaborate and communicates with the clinical and revenue cycle teams to ensure timely response to workflow questions and concerns
Participate in budget planning, monitors expenses and ensures the team is being fiscally responsible
Develops and implements new procedures, techniques, or technology to improve efficiency and support the mission and goals of Home & Community Care.
Ensures appropriate staff competencies are maintained (licensure, certification, orientation, mandatory training, and continuing education.
Serves as resource to operational teams and leaders providing expertise on the management of health information in both paper and electronic formats.
Serves on organizational committees (i.e. policy committee, Joint Commission preparation, revenue cycle meetings) as assigned and participates in professional peer groups as appropriate
Required qualifications for this position includes:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related healthcare field -OR-
Associate's Degree in Health Information Management or related field and 3 years experience in health information management; - OR-
Seven (7) years of progressively increasing experience in a leading role in health information management, revenue cycle, or related healthcare field
Manager overseeing diagnosis coding must obtain one of the following coding certifications within 90 days of hire: HCS-D, HCS-H, or CCA certification
Three (3) years of Supervisory experience
Three (3) years of years multiple electronic health record applications, -OR One (1) year of electronic health record applications combined with at least three (3) years experience in IT Project Management/Integration/Implementation experience
Experience in project management.
Preferred qualifications for this position includes:
Coursework/Training: SixSigma CAP or LEAN Training; Project Management training
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential
Project management certification
Home Health, Hospice, Infusion, Quality Review, or Revenue Cycle operations experience
