Located just off the Highway 101 corridor, approximately 55 miles north of San Francisco, Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 337-bed acute care hospital providing a wide range of specialty services. The hospital is home to the region's Level II Trauma Center serving the entire Coastal Valleys area, including Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino and Lake counties, as well as coastal Marin County.
We are currently seeking a Human Resources Area Manager experienced in Healthcare and Labor Unions to join our team.
The Human Resources Area Manager provides leadership to the employment team, oversees all recruitment functions and supports employee relations, organizational development, and legal/regulatory compliance to employees and the area management team. Works as a business partner with Hospital clients to strategize and operationalize Human Resources practices, policies and processes ensuring the values of the St. Joseph Health System are consistently integrated and upheld.
Directs activities, responsibilities, and functions of Employment Representatives and recruiters to meet identified goals consistent with the HR strategic plan and mission.
Ensures employment process is carried out to ensure optimal recruitment and retention of qualified staff within identified goals and budget.
Ensures new hire orientation and education processes meet JCAHO and regulatory requirements.
Provides ongoing direction, training, and guidance to managers with respect ot employment, wage and hour regulations, and other employee relations programs and activities.
Ensures that employment process is carried out to ensure optimal recruitment and retention of qualified staff within identified goals and budget.
Deliver a high level of customer service by implementing systems and procedures that constantly improve the department’s ability to respond in a timely basis with credible information to clients.
Identifies areas of potential legal risk and develops appropriate responses including education, policy changes, and direct intervention.
Manages group process to build effective working relationships throughout the organization, using collaboration and team-building skills.
Staff/self management and development.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare or other related field required; Master’s Degree, preferred
At least 5 – 8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with previous supervisory experience.
Healthcare and labor union experience required.
Project Management experience preferred.
