Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Clinical Informatics Virtual Educator PSJH to any of our locations across WA, OR, TX, ID, AK or CA. This is a long term temporary position that is expected to last through March 2022. This position is eligible for benefits.

We are seeking a Clinical Informatics Virtual Educator to be responsible for understanding curriculum content and delivering virtual training to adult learners; partnering with the Curriculum, Design and Review Teams, Instructional Designers, and Clinical Informatics in identifying training needs and contributing to course content that meets the needs of our Caregivers. The Virtual Educator will work in collaboration with Training Operations and Regional Clinical Informatics to manage the learning environment during education sessions; provide essential feedback in the evaluation of training content and student’s performance, and contribute to the strategic plans of the Virtual Training Program. The Virtual Educator provides direct support, initial and ongoing EHR training and competency validation to Providence Health & Services caregivers. Employees in this position must have the ability to understand and translate the functionality of Epic and related applications system configuration and workflow validations into training environment development, specific and easy to understand classroom presentations, and prepare and manage requirements for training sessions. Employees must be able to effectively present course content for a variety of audiences with different learning styles. The Virtual Educator performs all duties in a manner that reflects the Providence Health & Services mission, philosophy, and core values of respect, compassion, justice, excellence and stewardship.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

Education/Coaching:

  • In collaboration with the Training Operations Team analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of the Virtual Training and other innovative methods, classes and content.

  • Collaborate with Instructional Designers and Clinical Informatics Specialists to provide interventions and/or adjustments to curriculum delivery and content.

  • Effectively implement training programs including student evaluations.

  • Ensure that core curriculum and training knowledge delivered is consistent with and accurately reflects organization and industry standards.

Problem Solving:

  • Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical skills.

  • Leverage electronic tools to problem solve caregiver issues during training delivery.

  • Able to facilitate online classroom technology with ease.

  • Able to solve IT problems with expedience and efficiently.

  • Able to accurately diagnosis issues and resolve or facilitate resolution efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Informatics or equivalent education/experience.

  • 2 years of experience in a position that had the same or similar primary duties.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year of experience with supporting clinician use of an EHR system, with expertise in hospital or ambulatory clinical computer applications (as appropriate for role), especially those used at PH&S.

  • Education or training experience using principles of adult learning in clinical environments. Experience in a clinical field.

  • Project management and Change management and process improvement leadership.

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in training delivery; creating, designing, and writing training materials.

  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as SharePoint.
