We are seeking a Development Coordinator who will be under the general supervision of the Vice President for Development, the Development Coordinator will be focused on three primary activities: 1) Assisting in the implementing of the Annual Giving Program, 2) Assisting in the implementing of the Legacy Giving Program, 3) Providing general support for the Vice President of Development.

In this position you will:

  • Interact with Foundation staff, vendors, donors and volunteers to support fundraising efforts of the Foundation.

  • As assigned:

  • Assist with a year-round Annual Giving and Legacy Giving Direct Marketing (mail and electronic/online) appeals, and list preparation and use

  • Assist with generating reports, presentations and correspondence

  • Attend, participates and facilitates in special events as needed and requested

  • Work closely with the processing department to monitor donor records and track timely acknowledgments for Annual Giving and Legacy Giving Programs

  • Comply with hospital, department and unit standards, including but not limited to safety, infection control, quality management, environmental, confidentiality, and patient care

  • Assists with drafting, proofing and sending donor and prospect correspondence

  • Research, analyse and synthesize information in order to articulate institutional activities and priorities via written proposals and reports, and in one-on-one meetings with and presentations to donors, prospects, trustees and volunteer leadership

  • Participate in the development and attainment of team, department and hospital goals including:

  • Attending and participating in division meetings

  • Volunteering or accepting assignments for projects

  • Mission, vision and team ground rules

  • Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for own professional practice in regards to:

  • Attendance, punctuality, confidentiality and professionalism

  • Positive public relation image and working relationships

  • Obtaining necessary knowledge and skill needed to maintain competence

  • Completing all mandatory requirements

  • Strive to streamline processes and improve efficiency of the department

  • Perform other job related duties as required


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Able to work various hours for special events, including weekends

  • Able to work independently with little or no supervision

  • Proficient in P.C. software applications including, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Raiser’s Edge etc.

  • Able to prioritize, organize and coordinate work

  • Able to work effectively with many people at various levels of the organization

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Able to handle multiple tasks and appropriately prioritize

  • Able to clearly communicate with internal and external customers, including, but not limited to, co-workers, management, physicians, patients and visitors

  • Able to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance to hospital policy

Preferred qualifications for this position includes:

  • Associate's Degree -or- Bachelor's Degree

  • Non-profit Fundraising Experience
