Providence Health & Services Social Worker / LMFT - CSU in San Pedro, California
Providence Crisis Stabilization Unit is calling a Per Diem, Variable Shift Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro in San Pedro, CA.
In this position you will:
Provide clinical social work services on the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of LCM-SPH and the NASW.
Be responsible for psychosocial assessments, participation in treatment team planning, processing commitments, discharge planning/case management service, crisis intervention, and liaison services with referral sources and other departments within the Providence Health & Services and community. Patients to include adults 18 year or older.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Completion of an accredited Masters Program in Social Work, Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy.
Pursuing licensure and registered with the California Board of Behavioral Services (BBS) as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) or as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern (IMFT).
Two to five years experience in healthcare related setting with patient population in area of service
Advanced communication skills to communicate effectively with patients, hospital staff, physicians and the community. Must be able to fluently speak, read, write and understand English
Flexibility and strong self motivation/organizational skills to prioritize work and make decisions with minimal supervision
Computer experience/literacy as needed for the job
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position as defined by the RU-91 form
A courteous and cooperative service-oriented demeanor
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
MFT licensure by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
Knowledgeable of community resources with discharge planning experience
Two years of recent acute hospital experience
Bilingual in Spanish
