Providence Senior Operations Center Technician PSJH in Renton, Washington

Description:

Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Senior Operations Center Technician PSJH to our location in Renton, WA; Seattle, WA; Redmond, WA.

We are seeking a Senior Operations Center Technician PSJH who will provide 24x7 Situational Awareness and incident response through monitoring and support of the network, servers, applications and interfaces and coordinates all information technology related Major Events across the enterprise. In addition they are responsible for ensuring backups are successful and media recovery processes are adhered to. Responsible for excellent customer service delivery and satisfaction, management and achievement of operating level agreements. Remain calm and professional under pressure, and major events that impact the customers. Provides customer communication and status updates, and minimizes unexpected interruptions in service. Triages issues, identifies the root cause and assigns problems to the correct team or service group once escalated. Provides required reports, uploads/downloads files and assists with system backups and ensuring all media is taken off site within our expected SlA's. Comprehend and assist with vendor troubleshooting and problem resolution. Monitors data center environment to ensure adequate temperature control and takes corrective action as required. Assists the Level 2 and 3 Technicians follow guidelines and processes around Major Incident/Event Management including documenting and tracking event and performing required communication utilizing all prescribed tools. Invoke Major Incident Manager, Security Incident Manager, and Privacy Incident Manager when necessary. Performs shift turnover and notify team members of major events and unresolved issues.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Providing tier 1 support capabilities for operational teams 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Following standard operating procedures and training documentation, perform detailed workflows that are time sensitive and highly specific.

  • Technology Description: (Must meet 4 of the following requirements) • Infoblox: Infoblox IP address management (IPAM), subnet management, Infoblox DNS views. • Major Incident: Understands organization support groups and directs communication initiation as needed. • Scripting/Automation: Able to write scripts proficiently. Understands code management. Knowledge of 1-2 scripting languages. • Network Operations: Understands OSI model and how each layer interacts with the Network. Familiarity with multiple of the following: Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto devices. • Server Operations (Patching/etc.): Expert user skills with desktop OS; Strong admin skills with one PSJH OS (Windows Server 2008 , AIX, Linux, vServer). Good understanding of virtualization technologies. Basic performance tuning skills. Expert experience using vSphere, XenCenter. • Security Operations: Understands security theory. Understands VPN technology and implementation. Understanding of cryptography, authentication and intrusion detection. Understands basic security intrusion response. • DB Operations: Can write complex SQL and PL/SQL queries. Can tune performance. Understands database networking. Able to evaluate replication strategies. • Datacenter Facilities: Familiar with multiple data center alert types from tools such as Struxuware and APC. Able to follow runbooks for alerting and escalate appropriately to local building and engineering and support vendors. • Operations Center: Tracks alerts as they arrive in the system. Able to correlate events as they pertain to other activities such as change management, maintenance work and/or external events such as power outages or vendor outages. Able to remedy situations based on alert information. Will own issues with medium complexity and will drive them to resolution.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or Information Services or equivalent education/experience.

  • 5 years Information Services technical leadership experience in leading IS infrastructure operations teams.

  • 2 or more current: A , Net , Sec , CCENT, CCNA, MCP, MCSE, or equivalent.
