We are seeking a Senior Manager, Master Data Management Strategy to elevate Providence St Joseph Health Data assets to support system strategic priorities. The Leader leads Strategy, policy standards and Process Management of Enterprise Master Data Management.

This position supports Enterprise Data Governance and Healthcare Intelligence by expanding visibility and adoption of governed data assets resulting in reduced duplicates and elevating quality for strategic programs and operations across the PSJH. Leader will partner at both at the department and functional levels, to define, prioritize, document and operationalize Data Governance policies and procedures across PSJH. Partnering with business units to ensure policies and procedures are defined and operationalized for patient, provider, payor and supply chain domains is an essential accountability.

The Master Data Management Strategy Senior Manager is responsible for evangelizing and operationalizing data stewardship across the organization. This includes integrating Enterprise Golden Records, Source of Truth, and Data standards into end user workflow, creating, documenting and gaining agreement on metadata, driving accountability of workflow through policies and procedures, measuring and driving improvement in data quality for core data elements and reducing duplicates for our mastered data.

Senior Manager is a key leader in defining a data culture that aligns with and further enables Healthcare Intelligence growth and quality. This position requires strong business acumen and technical skills that, in combination, ensures development of well‐balanced processes and solutions that deliver material organizational value.

Essential Job Functions:

  • The Data Governance Leader is responsible for developing and managing enterprise data policies, standards, and processes.

  • Lead the definition of an Enterprise Data Strategy that addresses data issues/topics relevant to PSJH such as Systems of Record, Data Sourcing, Master Data, Metadata, Data Governance and Data Quality.

  • Facilitate adoption of the Enterprise Data Governance Policies, Procedures, and Standards by providing an advisory and oversight function for all data‐centric business and technology initiatives, projects and/or programs.

  • Monitors compliance of enterprise data policies across the organization to ensure high quality and available data within the organization.

  • Lead the effort to ensure that the Enterprise Data Strategy aligns organizational structure of PSJH.

  • Lead the ongoing education efforts of all PSJH associates at all levels regarding the role and purpose of the Enterprise Data Strategy.

  • Lead the effort to gain adoption and buy‐in of the Enterprise Data Strategy from data stakeholders, management, executives and business partners from across PSJH.

  • Lead the effort with communications and organizational learning professionals to develop a plan of communication and education to achieve adoption of the Enterprise Data Strategy.

  • Prepare management and technical presentations and interface with senior management and business users to map out and document strategy and data exchange flows.

  • Serve as an advocate and change agent, and persuade and influence courageously at all levels of the organization.

  • Articulate and gain buy‐in to leadership, partners and HI the benefits and need for Data Governance and Data Quality.

  • Develop and oversee ongoing Master Data Governance for operational needs.

  • Ensure collaboration from Data Stewards, Data Owners, business SMEs and IT stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Management, MIS, Strategy, Policy Administration, and/or other data‐related or compliance fields. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 4 years of progressive experience managing complex IT programs and/or projects required including Data Governance and Master Data Management implementations.

  • Experience establishing or developing enterprise or solution architecture functions.

  • Experience Writing Policies and Procedures and Diagram workflows.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 2 years’ experience designing and implementing Data Governance.
