Providence is calling a Risk & Safety Project Manager to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Project Manager to provide complex research, analysis, planning, formulation and facilitate implementation for multiple Risk and Patient Safety projects and initiatives. This position provides direct support a self-insurance multi-line insurance program and is heavily involved in the day to day processes surrounding insurance and renewals of many lines of insurance coverage for the entire seven-state health system.
In this position you will:
Provide direct support to the System Director of Risk and Insurance
Support the entire insurance renewal process
Gather accurate underwriting and exposure data, and prepare insurance applications
Provide focused, research, review and analysis into relevant risk prevention/patient safety issues and topics utilizing: literature, internet resources, professional organization guidelines and publications, federal and state regulations, statutes, case law, best practices, etc.
Provide focused Project Management including, but not limited to Electronic Health Record (EHR) and related topics including facilitation of the Epic multi-disciplinary (Non-IT) issues team, Risk Prevention and Patient Safety claims trending, projects and initiatives in collaboration with leadership, clinicians and other caregivers in both acute and non-acute care settings, Coordinate and facilitate the system-wide Emergency Preparedness Council (EPC).
Establish charter objectives and subcommittee formulation of resources including: Identification and dissemination of best practices, pertinent literature, legal and regulatory requirements, National Incident Management System (NIMS) and communications, including System Emergency Command Center (SECC) respond to requests for emergency assistance from Providence regions and ministries, Develop, implement, and monitor patient, visitor and employee safety plans, including: Workplace Violence and Active Shooter. Collaborate, coordinate and network with system, regional and ministry security teams.
Provide research, direct support, and respond in a timely and focused manner to regional, ministry and risk manager requests for consultations.
Work closely with Providence attorneys on due diligence regarding affiliations, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Assist with appropriate review of construction, architectural, leasehold and other contractual transactions. Work closely with Providence attorneys in review and evaluation of contractual insurance requirements and indemnity provisions.
Provide research and analysis on other risk/legal topics, including but not limited to: Safe Medical Devices Act, FDA alerts and recalls, Institutional Review Board (IRB) clinical investigations, HIPAA, cyber risk, identity theft and other system-wide risks.
Provide requested administrative and project support to the Risk, Claims, and Insurance leadership, including insurance renewals and marketing efforts.
Required qualifications for this position include:
4 years of experience in risk management and/or insurance claims.
2 years project management experience involving successful development and execution.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Member of American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM).
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM).
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Change Acceleration Process (CAP).
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster procedures.
