Providence Health & Services Referral Services Specialist in Renton, Washington

Providence is calling a Referral Services Specialist to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA.

We are seeking a Referral Services Specialist to be the first point of contact for patients, providers or their staff, employers or other organizations contacting the designated referral or service line. Coordinates effective communication between physicians, patients, employers, insurers and all involved groups. The primary customers are external providers, employers, medical organizations but not limited to direct patient’s interaction.

In this position you will:

  • Handle all communications and case related inquiries due to all provider, employer, organization or international patient referral on a daily basis.

  • Responsible of all service line cases (created, active, resolved) and maintain detailed documentation. Ensures that active case remains current and accessible for internal use.

  • Coordinate necessary logistics and follows up with internal and external groups following respective process to ensure appropriate regional referral services delivery to all clients.

  • Consult with different tools and resources to offer highest level of information and customer service, internal and external.

  • Educate involved parties of the referral service program process, information referral or support with coordination of appointments or all needed.

  • Support the client to effectively provide them with all needed, always with respect.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in healthcare associated field. Equivalent years of experience may be substituted for degree requirement.

  • 3 years experience working in the medical field.

  • 5 years customer service.

  • Knowledge of Cruise line industry and related occupational medicine.

  • Possesses proficiency with personal computer, Microsoft software applications, Epic Hyperspace.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service via telephone and in person as well as problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated track record of successful public relations in health care setting, with possession of strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse individuals.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Knowledge of Workers Compensation laws, procedures and regulations.

  • Certification in a health related field.
