Providence Health & Services Labor Consultant PSJH in Renton, Washington
Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Labor Consultant PSJH. This position is open to Candidates residing in Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon, California or Texas.

We are seeking a Labor Consultant PSJH who will be responsible for serving as a strategic labor consultant to local HR and core leaders who are experiencing labor organizing activity. The role includes facilitating and recommending best practice approaches to labor and caregiver relations, adherence to HR policies, compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, and making recommendations for workplace environment improvement. A LRC will provide seasoned expertise and technical knowledge to provide advice on regulatory and agency requirements, as well as all federal and state employment laws.
Maintains HR metrics and dashboards and provides labor related metrics to other HR professionals so actions can be aligned with findings.
The LRC may also partner with field HR and the LEBC team to provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance on contract negotiations, contract administration and strike planning to include serving as a strategic thought partner on for local HR and core leaders on business initiative implementation in highly complex labor environments. In some locations, the LRC may support implementation and oversight of key contractual provisions in assigned collective bargaining agreements.
Depending on capabilities, the LRC may lead or facilitate other caregiver relations activities to include environmental assessments, investigations, and compliance consulting and education.

Key Areas of Focus:
• Provides advanced, pro-active, consulting expertise on labor risk mitigation.
• Collects, analyzes, interprets and prepares reports on labor vulnerability and labor activity.
• Uses facts and data to interpret and trend data for local operations and HR leaders to support effective business decisions regarding labor and caregiver relations.
• Pro-actively identifies and reports on areas of potential labor risk. Supports field HR in building, implementing and measuring labor risk mitigation plans.
• Provides advanced labor relations guidance related to contract implementation and adherence.
• Under guidance of LEBC, develops and facilitates labor relations education programs.
• Under guidance of LEBC, designs and manages petition for representation campaigns.
• Mentors other members of the team.
• Partners with others to drive appropriate communications.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Analyze Ministry/business needs; acts quickly to generate alternative approaches and recommendations for labor relations and caregiver relations strategies; provides long-term and broad views regarding labor implications of business decisions.
Partner with local HR, business leaders and Labor and Employment Counsel to plan and review labor relations and caregiver relations strategies and communication plans to attain goals.
Analyze and interpret HR data and other data sources for trends and opportunities.
Advocate fair & appropriate workplace practices in accordance with mission, values, legal parameters.
Promote and utilize HR technology, metrics, and systems to support the overall needs of the business. Collaborates with local HR and others if new tools are needed to ensure customers are provided trend reports and analytics in the most efficient manner.
Collaborate with local HR to provide consultation to managers on mitigation strategies.
Facilitate labor training and education for HR and core leaders.
Under guidance of LEBC, designs and manages all elements of organization response to petitions for representation.
Provide subject matter expertise and serves as a consultant to Field HR leaders preparing for labor actions including information pickets and strikes.
Required qualifications for this position include:
8 years Progressively responsible exempt level HR experience serving as an hr business partner, hr consultant, labor relations consultant or other related experience.
Multi-site/location, multi-line of business, and/or integrated health system experience.
Demonstrates advanced experience in labor relations.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
