Providence is calling a Government Programs Senior Clinical Systems Liaison to Providence Health & Services in Spokane, WA, or Renton WA.

We are seeking a Government Programs Senior Clinical Systems Liaison to proactively monitor all Federal and State agencies to gain knowledge of pay-for performance requirements and functions as a subject matter expert on all workflow implications of these regulations. Identifies necessity of providing new or updated clinical workflow documentation and training based on new programs or updates to existing programs. Works directly and independently with operational leadership and hospital and provider stakeholders as subject matter expert to educate and clarify all workflow implications of these requirements. Develops, maintains and delivers written materials and presentations to facilitate this educational process. Additionally develops reference documentation which may include technical writing, process development, and detailed workflow documentation amongst other things. This role is an expert on both clinical process and clinical informatics practices in both an inpatient and ambulatory setting and can work directly with all Providence ministries and affiliates to translate complex government programs into workflow guidance to stakeholders in meeting all required objectives and quality metrics. This role will also mine all in scope program regulations to identify upcoming and future metrics and together with Epic and other system and regional teams will develop plans for workflow implementation and potential issues mitigation. Will also work with Healthcare Intelligence to develop reporting options to track the adherence to workflow on these new metrics. Will educate and disseminate these reports to appropriate stakeholders. Using independent judgment, will develop gap analysis based on current data availability and will escalate potential data issues as necessary.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Data mines all in scope program regulations to identify upcoming and future metrics and together with Epic and other system and regional teams will develop plans for workflow implementation and potential issues mitigation. Will also work with Healthcare Intelligence to develop reporting options to track the adherence to workflow on these new metrics. Will educate and disseminate these reports to appropriate stakeholders. Using independent judgment, will develop gap analysis based on current data availability and will escalate potential data issues as necessary.

  • Develop and share procedures and innovative solutions to improve efficient, reliable use of the clinical information systems to meet all in scope government program requirements.

  • Analyzes performance reports to identify potential workflow and training issues that lead to negative performance trends. Once trends are identified, Liaison will work directly with regional partners to provide workflow documentation and education in an effort to reverse these trends. Liaison will also use independent judgment as to when to escalate negative trends to Senior Manager for review.

  • Using an excellent knowledge of all required data for in scope program metrics and how they are documented in Epic, Liaison will work with Epic, Quality and other teams within Providence to lead data validation on all reports used to monitor performance on in scope program required clinical quality metrics and any reports or other output used to report to CMS. If discrepancies are identified, Liaison will help to identify whether these discrepancies are caused by user error, lack of education or changes needed to Epic build. Liaison will then work with Epic build team, regional partners and other teams to identify potential solutions.

  • Design and improve steps for clinical data validation with the goal of ensuring data accuracy. Collaborate with regional representation to implement clinical data validation processes.

  • Independently researches and analyzes performance trends and concerns from a health care enterprise perspective to identify potential issues or areas for improvement regarding to workflow development and training and shares these findings together with recommended solutions with both the GP Core Team and regional partners.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s Degree in Health Sciences, Business, Information Systems - or equivalent experience and/or technical training.

  • 8 years’ experience in informatics, clinical environment or software analyst role, reporting, or healthcare project leadership.

  • Previous patient care and clinical informatics experience.

  • 3 years’ experience with healthcare regulatory and government incentive programs and HIPAA regulations.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 10 years of relevant work experience in a large healthcare enterprise - experience in a hospital or clinical setting will also be considered.

  • MD, RN, RD, MSN or other advanced healthcare license/certification.
