Providence is calling a Director of Finance to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA.

We are seeking a Director of Finance to be a leader and trusted advisor to Senior Leadership with a focus on driving financial improvement within the organization. This leader is expected to lead FP&A operations for a variety of critical functions as well as assists key decision makers in forming an objective and accurate view of operations and services and opportunities by analyzing financial information, interpreting trends and metrics. This role will lead various projects related to the measurement, forecast and reporting of critical financial results and is expected to lead in the achievement of productivity and strategic targets.
The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.
In this position you will:
Be a Trusted Advisor to seniorleadership including EVP, SVP, VP, Sr. Director and other management team.Special projects including business plan and proforma development,especially in new business ventures.
Be a Trusted Advisor to theleadership of the population health team.
Lead Finance for AccountableCare Organization and Risk Accepting Entities.
Responsible for developingresource allocation methodologies aligned with contract incentives.Will forecast risk performance.
Must have experience with caremanagement and utilization management.
Lead people and process toachieve core finance functions including budgeting, long range planning,reporting, productivity, benchmarking and pro formas.
Provide mentorship anddevelopment to caregivers including training with a goal of growing skillsand promoting caregiver engagement.
Partner with leaders inproactive development of financial analytic materials and methodologies.Develop insights that support key decision-makers through criticalresearch and analysis of operational areas such as resource utilization,organizational structure, and work methods/procedures. Interpret businesstrends and metrics to assist key decision makers in forming an objectiveview of operations, services and opportunities. Conduct studies,productivity analyses, and surveys to identify areas for financialimprovement.
Partner with Revenue Cycle,Payer Contracting and Reimbursement teams to inform payer contractingstrategies.
Develop budgets. Long-rangefinancial plan and annual budget. Responsible for LRP and budgetassumptions. Develop financial plans in line with strategies toachieve PSMS goals and objectives
Develop and provide training toleadership teams and managers regarding budget reporting, metrics andrelated information. Facilitate education sessions either in a one-on-oneenvironment or in large groups in person or via web.
Develop insights that supportkey decision-makers through critical research and analysis of operationalareas such as resource utilization, organizational structure, and workmethods/procedures.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or a health care-related discipline or equivalent.
5 years management experience.
5 years of analytical & business experience in financial analysis, accounting or related discipline.
Advanced level of proficiency in performing financial impact analysis, risk management and data manipulation.
Expert experience in creating and using financial modeling tools, spreadsheets, and information acquisition tools including experience in interpreting complex conceptual analyses and reviewing financial modeling results.
Preference given to incumbents with prior experience as senior financial analysts, who have demonstrated a strong ability to partner with leadership.
Advanced use of spreadsheet and database programs.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master’s degree in HealthAdministration, Public Health or Business Administration.
Prior experience in a large,complex/matrixed organization.
Executive finance leadershipexperience.
Prior experience in healthcareand health systems.
Prior experience with health plans/payers.
Prior experience with managedcare.
Prior M&A experience.
