Providence Health & Services Director of Communications, Religious Community in Renton, Washington
Providence is calling a Director of Communications, Religious Community to Providence Health & Services in Renton, WA.
We are seeking a Director of Communications, Religious Community to provide leadership and coordination for the communication of the Providence Mission as lived out in Mother Joseph Province, in ministries and aspects of communal life, to various publics, to the media and to the Sisters of the province and to the congregation-at-large.
Essential Job Functions:
Writes and produces Mother Joseph Province bulletins, newsletters, other publications, and periodically assesses the philosophy and effectiveness of these publications.
Develops ongoing relationships with the news media and with Catholic media in particular; writes press releases/news articles for the Sisters of Providence (ministries, Jubilee celebrations, entrances and professions, awards and recognitions, sisters’ and associates’ deaths, etc.).
Assists in the writing and production of vocation brochures and other promotional or informational materials.
Oversees outside vendor(s) regarding advertisements in newspapers, magazines and other publications.
Creates content for social media channels, and oversees or takes photographs and videos for use on Facebook and other platforms.
Oversees vendor relations in the development and maintenance of the Mother Joseph Province website.
Maintains communication with the public relations and communication offices of PSJH, Providence-sponsored and intercommunity ministries, and the communication offices of the dioceses in which the sisters serve.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism or related field.
Minimum of five years’ experience in directing public relations or communications in a human service organization of a religious congregation or in a comparable situation, e.g. recruitment, vocation promotion, development office of a religious congregation or social service organization.
Demonstrated mastery of written and verbal communication, correspondence, interviews, etc.
Computer skills, desktop, printing, and website/social media technologies
