Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Director, Endpoint System Engineering – PSJH to Renton, WA (other PSJH locations may be considered)

We are seeking a Director, Endpoint System Engineering – PSJH to be responsible for deploying the standardized portfolio of enterprise endpoints and standard technologies across the enterprise. These services will be designed to provide measurable value to the business, producing increased data protection, reliability, availability and organizational cost savings. The Director will also be responsible for collaboratively evaluating, and integrating emerging endpoint technologies into the PSJH environment. A core expectation will be to implement and maintain engineering standards and policies related to these emerging technologies.

The Director will be responsible for managing two multi-discipline teams of engineers. These teams will leverage the technology portfolio to implement high valued, reliable, and scalable business solutions. The Director will be responsible for maintaining all standards of practice for the use of endpoint technologies. These standards will ensure proactive planning and forecasting measures are operationalized to manage business demand and exceed business expectations.

The Director and teams will work collaboratively across engineering service lines in support of enterprise technology deployments, automation and innovation initiatives, and participate in re-engineering end point solutions for existing technology issues across the enterprise. A core responsibility of this role will be to lead the teams to engineer production solutions that are highly available, reliable, secure, fully documented, and in accordance with industry best practices.

Additional core responsibilities include establishing and managing adherence to standards and policies, and build and support a professional, creative, and collaborative team. The Director will maintain strategic vendor relationships, ensuring innovative strategies are incorporated into future roadmaps.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working in a distributed environment and leading geographically distributed teams. The scope of activities includes all planning, design, and engineering activities associated with all endpoint technologies and platforms as well as the technology infrastructure to support those systems/devices. Additional responsibilities include developing and directing specific engineering programs/projects to support strategic initiative.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • High level of Senior Management; reports to an Executive Director.

  • Strategic (2 years or longer) in focus.

  • Provides leadership to multiple operations that either constitute, or support, a significant percentage of the organization’s revenues.

  • Uses complex business information of varying types (to include financial; marketing; legal; functional) to support strategies.

  • Accomplishes work through subordinate senior-level managers; and/or high level individual contributors.

  • Identifies and implements changes and improvements that accomplish long-range business objectives.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Business Management, Information Services, or related field of study -or- equivalent educ/experience.

  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to inspire and develop staff.

  • Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion.

  • Ability to demonstrate a high commitment to quality.

  • Thorough understanding of current developments and trends in mobility and emerging technologies, tools and related technologies (e.g. provisioning, monitoring, and patching tools, OS, connectivity, management environments and tool etc.), as well as consumer and client based requirements (e.g. OS, iOS, Android, MDM, EMM, SCCM, ESM MS Management suite) for the facilitation all core business lines.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's degree in Computer Sciences, Business Management, Information Services, or related field of study -or- equivalent educ/experience.

  • Coursework/Training in ITIL Certification.

  • 3 years of leadership experience for IT or related equivalent team in a large geographically dispersed environment.
