Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Affirmative Action Consultant PSJH . This position works predominantly remote, but may need to commute to one of our headquarters sites located in Portland, Renton or Irvine once a month for meetings.
We are seeking a Affirmative Action Consultant PSJH to serve as a strategic consultant/subject matter expert to promote consistent and best practice approaches to affirmative action in support of regulatory compliance requirements and caregiver diversity, equity and inclusion strategy. The position drives all tasks related to creation of affirmative action plans and related reports, including audit support and internal research as needed. The role serves as a subject matter expert in the area of affirmative action principles and regulations, facilitates affirmative action presentations and training, and coordinates with outside vendors and internal Legal Counsel, along with Workforce Strategy and HRIS colleagues to complete AAPs, EEO-1 and Vets 4212 filings. The responsibility of this position includes analysis of current state, research of best practices, consultation, design and selection of solution, assessment effectiveness, implementation, measurement, continuous improvement, and alignment with the overall strategic direction of PSJH Affirmative Action and Caregiver DEI. The AA Consultant also serves as a liaison and internal consultant to HR, while ensuring that the affirmative action program activities are consistent with PSJH vision and core values.
In this position you will have the following responsibilities:
Drive completion of Affirmative Action Plans, EEO-1 reports, VETS-4212 reports, OFCCP audit and conciliation reporting (if needed)
Provide technical expertise for most complex projects and programs working with members from multiple organizations, cross-functional team(s) and key leadership within a matrix management organization utilizing strong program/project methods and tools.
Business acumen within HR and across the functional organization to ensure business agility, innovative and creative solutions for achievement of outcomes
Identify project and program design, scope for work stream efforts and identify risk and mitigation strategies. Supports high level road map and transition plans to coordinate and scope schedules and projects
Oversee the planning and execution of detailed plans, communication, and change management. Accountable for the achievement of project or program objectives consistent with HR strategy.
In conjunction with regulatory compliance requirements, supports the implementation of an organization-wide strategy to ensure diversity, equity and inclusion for all caregivers. This is done in partnership with other stakeholders to ensure that all initiatives are aligned with the strategic plan
Develop and present an array of innovative ideas and program concepts for consideration, selection, and implementation
Communicate internal affirmative action information to key stakeholders; researches data anomalies and monitors effectiveness of affirmative action strategic plan initiatives
In conjunction with affirmative action regulatory requirements, utilizes learnings to advocate for corrective measures to influence infusion of diversity, equity and inclusion concepts into talent management, talent acquisition, and learning and development strategies
Knowledge of statistics and ability to interpret/trend data
Provide training and education to all levels of the organization regarding interpretation and implementation of applicable laws, HR policies and new initiatives.
Promots and utilize HR technology, metrics, and systems to support the overall needs of the business. Collaborates with HR partners and others if new tools are needed to ensure customers are provided trend reports and analytics in the most efficient manner
Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to explain processes, designs, and procedures. Demonstrates outstanding communications skills including verbal communications and the written word; ability to listen and communicate in a manner that is easily understood and effective, responds appropriately and timely to requests, asks clarifying questions.
Demonstrate the ability to develop and plan complex and long term projects taking into consideration multiple information sources.
Demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgment, work independently as well as collaboratively, and manages multiple competing demand.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, Human Resources or 4 years related DEI or CRG experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree
5 years Human Resources, Client services or related experience
3 years Multi-Unit/Multi-State and/or Multi-line of business
3 years Program and Project Management experience with excellent communication planning
Strong verbal communication and listening skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's Degree in Business or related field, Human Resources
1 year Affirmative Action or DEI experience
