Providence Health & Services Wee Care Teacher Assistant in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Teacher Assistant to Providence Wee Care Child Development Center in Portland, Oregon. This is a part-time, benefited position; Monday - Friday, 5 hour afternoon shifts.
In this position you will:
Work as a team member to provide a safe and secure environment that provides developmentally activities for a child's social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth.
Be directly involved in the physical care of children including feeding and changing of diapers/clothing and the maintenance of a clean and orderly environment.
Perform all duties in a manner that promotes team work and reflects the Providence mission and values.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
1 year of direct qualified child care experience in a licensed child care center with infants/toddlers (6 weeks to 36 months or preschool children (36 months to 5 years))
Qualified course work or a combination of qualified course work and experience
Willingness and ability to expand knowledge of child development/early childhood education
In compliance with the Oregon Child Care Division, Central Background Registry is required for this position, based on assigned duties.
Must have no convictions related to child abuse, offenses against persons, sexual offenses, child neglect, felony offenses involving controlled substances or any other offenses bearing substantial relation to the qualifications, functions or duties of an employee of a child care facility.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Basic Life Support (BLS)/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or First Aid/CPR
Hygiene Standards: Food Handler Card
