Providence Supervisor Nursing in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Supervisor Nursing - Laurelhurst Nursing Services (1.0 FTE, Days) to Elderplace I Laurelhurst in Portland, OR

We are seeking a Supervisor Nursing - Laurelhurst Nursing Services that will provide overall leadership and direction to the clinic and community care nursing programs and staff in the Health and Social Center(s).

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day nursing care and clinical operations to ensure efficient use of staff and resources

  • Provide clinical practice leadership and monitoring for quality nursing and related practices in clinics, day centers, and housing

  • Supervise assigned staff including: recruitment and selection, training, scheduling, coaching, evaluation of performance, disciplinary action and discharge

  • Implement and monitors staff competencies. Provides appropriate training and in-service to maintain and/or improve competency

  • Review and investigate UOR reports as assigned by the Operations Manager or Director of Nursing

  • Assist with the department budget process to ensure expenses are within targeted levels. Provides input to Director, Operations Manager, or Director of Nursing for the annual budget development

  • Actively participate as a member of the IDT, and Health and Social Center management groups

  • Actively participate, or ensure participation by assigning staff, in groups and qualify initiatives


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or advanced Nursing Degree OR 20 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

  • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) at time of hire

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for Health Care Provider certification required within six (6) months of hire

  • Five (5) years of clinic and/or community nursing work experience that includes one year of geriatric nursing

  • Nursing leadership experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Supervisory experience

  • Nursing experience in a PACE model

  • Experience managing a budget
