Providence Supervisor Clinical Hospice in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Supervisor Clinical Hospice - Hospice East Portland (1.0 FTE, Days) to Providence Office Park Portland in Portland, OR.

We are seeking a Supervisor Clinical Hospice - Hospice East Portland who will supervise skilled and non-skilled care to terminally ill patients and families in their place of residence, hospital or other facility, and upholds Service Excellence Standards of Behavior.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure the continuing high quality delivery of hospice services

  • Supervise the interdisciplinary team in the daily performance of their duties

  • Assure the quality of patient care from Intake through Bereavement for entire assigned Hospice caseload

  • Complete the required orientation and ongoing education of Hospice team to assure staff maintain necessary skills and competencies

  • Interview applicants, oversees hiring, and oversees direct reports conformity to agency policies, department performance standards, and professional standards

  • Conduct interdisciplinary patient care reviews with clinical staff on a regularly scheduled basis

  • Monitor care according to Quality Assurance standards and Utilization Review processes, participating in the provision of in-service education as needs are identified

  • Establish daily work schedules, ensures nurse availability 24 hours day, 7 days a week, adjusts work load according to patient census, ensures adequate staffing, and assigns hospice staff to monthly volunteer meeting


Required qualifications for this position includes:

  • Current Oregon RN Licensure

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider) -OR- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within thirty (30) days of hire

  • Two (2) years of clinical experience in Home Care -OR- Hospice with experience in long term care

  • Valid driver's license

  • Driving record consistent with GOP Safe Driving Policy 330 Incident Point Matrix at time of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • Two (2) years of experience in management, preferably in Hospice or Home Care

  • Community based hospice experience
