Providence Health & Services Sterile Processing Technician in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Sterile Processing Technician to its surgery team at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland , OR. This is a full time position with varying start times between 12pm-2:30pm. You will work 8 hours per day, any day of the week (Monday-Sunday).

In this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for the effective cleaning, inspection, maintenance, proper sterilization and distribution of sterile instrumentation and equipment.

  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure all supplies, instrumentation and equipment are available for surgical cases as well as other procedures requiring sterile supplies and/or instrumentation.

  • Be knowledgeable in sterile processing standard and serves as a patient safety advocate.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification, or a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification, within 18 months of hire

  • 1 year of healthcare experience, or successful completion of a sterile processing course

  • Experience using personal computer and basic software programs

  • Proficient at reading, writing, and speaking English

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year of sterile processing experience
